From the "File" menu you can insert the default values into all editboxes, for your current network-channel and self protection settings. But remember that those settings will not be saved unless you also click on the "Apply" button. You can also set on/off (that means the checkboxes will get checked or unchecked accordingly) all your channel flood protections settings by selecting "Check/Uncheck all boxes of channel flood protection". After you select to enable or disable those settings, click on the "Apply " button for your changes to take place.

From the "Options" menu you can set the kick/ignore reasons and warning message by selecting "Modify kick/ignore reasons and warning message" and maintain your user protect list by selecting "Edit users in protect list". You can also disable the whole flood protection by selecting "Completely disable channel flood protection" and/or "Completely disable self flood protection", you can select not to kick or kick/ban users who flood channel if you are away, by checking "Disable flood punishment while away" (if you are away, self protection' s common channel kick and kick/ban will also not be applied), you can have information shown to you when you have sent a warning message to a flooder by checking "Inform me when flooders are warned", you can see a network' s name automatically when connecting to it in order to use it for your settings if you want by selecting "Show network' s name when connecting", you can have a channel' s IAL automatically updated when joining it by selecting "Auto-update IAL when joining a channel" (same as pressing Ctrl+F9), you can automatically remove private message ignore on mIRC' s startup by enabling "Auto-remove private message ignore on startup" and finally you can select the "Always ask for confirmation before saving settings" in order to be prompted before saving that you are about to make changes in your current network-channel and self protection settings.

   • Note: Have in mind that enabling the "Auto-update IAL when joining a channel" option will keep you lagged for a longer period of time when you connect to a server.
